Arsenal’s Declan Rice has insisted that the Gunners are ready to make a ‘massive statement‘ in Sunday’s Premier League title showdown with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Rice has acknowledged the scale of the occasion while making clear that Arsenal’s shock 2-1 home loss to Bournemouth last week has only sharpened the hunger within Mikel Arteta‘s dressing room heading into the most important fixture of their season.

Arsenal arrive at the Etihad Stadium six points clear at the top of the Premier League table – but knowing that a Manchester City win would cut the gap to three points and hand the hosts the momentum and belief that a genuine title race is alive going into the final weeks of the campaign.

Pep Guardiola has already described Sunday’s fixture as the game that would define City’s season and Rice’s comments suggest Arsenal are approaching it with exactly the same gravity.
