President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang on yesterday’s celebration of his 61st birthday.
The President applauded the governor’s leadership and efforts at stabilising the state.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President celebrated the lawyer and politician for what he described as responsible leadership that is gradually restoring Plateau State to its reputation as the “Home of Peace and Tourism”.
President Tinubu acknowledged the governor’s interventions in critical sectors of governance, including security, rural infrastructure, healthcare, and education, noting that his administration has taken steps aimed at strengthening development and stability in the state.
The President particularly praised Mutfwang’s initiatives to revitalise the state’s economy through the establishment of agro-logistics hubs designed to stimulate agricultural production, improve supply chains, and boost local economic activity.
He noted that the Plateau governor’s approach to governance has also promoted inclusiveness and strengthened peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities in the state.

President Tinubu also lauded Mutfwang’s decision to inaugurate a 14-member State Advisory Committee on State Police, describing the move as a proactive step toward strengthening security at the sub-national level.
The President had earlier directed state governments across the federation to begin processes leading to the establishment of state police as part of broader efforts to enhance Nigeria’s internal security architecture.
He described the Plateau governor’s action as strategic and forward-looking, noting that it aligns with the administration’s ongoing efforts to reform and strengthen the country’s security framework.
President Tinubu further expressed confidence that the governor’s initiatives would contribute significantly to sustaining peace and development in Plateau State.
“As the governor celebrates this special occasion, the President wishes him good health and strength as he continues his good work in the state,” the statement said.
