President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos State Commissioner and ex-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Hon. Babatunde Alade Balogun, on his 75th birthday.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Balogun as a steadfast progressive and seasoned administrator whose decades of service have significantly contributed to the political organisation and governance of Lagos State.

Tinubu, who currently serves as Nigeria’s President, recalled Balogun’s tenure as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry during his administration as Governor of Lagos State, noting that the celebrant supported policies that strengthened commercial activities and industrial development in the state.

The President also acknowledged Balogun’s subsequent service as Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture under former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, where he helped promote cultural understanding, interfaith harmony, and stronger community engagement across the state.

Tinubu further highlighted Balogun’s contributions to party politics, particularly his leadership role as Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the APC.

According to the President, Balogun played a crucial role in consolidating the party’s organisational structures and strengthening its stability across the state during his tenure.

The President also commended Balogun’s continued service as a member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), describing the body as an important platform through which experienced leaders provide strategic guidance on governance and policy direction.

Tinubu noted that Balogun’s wealth of experience, institutional knowledge, and political insight continue to benefit Lagos State and the broader progressive movement.

“As Hon. Babatunde Alade Balogun marks this milestone 75th birthday, the President prays that Almighty God will grant him good health, strength, and many more years of fulfilment in service to Lagos State and the nation,” the statement said.
