A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) and convener of Ogun West Initiative, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, has said the senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, would build on the achievements of the current administration and harness the state’s vast potential.

He spoke in Abeokuta with reporters.

Adeniji reaffirmed support for Senator Adeola, popularly called YAYI, describing him as the right candidate to consolidate on Governor Dapo Abiodun’s achievements and unlock the full potential of Ogun State.

The staunch advocate for Ogun West governorship said Adeola’s emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of APC represented “a historic opportunity for balanced leadership and inclusive governance.”

He noted Governor Abiodun had laid a solid foundation in infrastructure, education and industrial development, which YAYI was well-positioned to build on.

Adeniji said: “Governor Abiodun has done well in setting Ogun State on the path of sustainable growth. What we need now is a leader who can consolidate on these legacies and take the state to the next phase of her socio-economic rebirth. Senator Adeola has the vision, competence and political will to fully harness Ogun’s vast potential.”

He says Ogun West, long marginalised in the state’s political leadership, now has a chance to produce a governor, who understands the aspirations of the people and is committed to equitable development across all zones.

Adeniji said Ogun West’s long-standing quest for governorship was finally within reach, and YAYI’s candidacy represented a historic opportunity for balanced leadership.

He added: “Our consensus candidate’s financial expertise, enormous legislative experience and pedigree in providing people-focused infrastructure, social services and empowerment of the masses, has placed him at vantage position to help Ogun State fully harness its industrial and economic potentials.”

Expressing confidence in the ability of YAYI to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, he urged party members and the electorate to rally behind YAYI, saying his candidature symbolised unity, continuity and progress.

“We are confident that the next administration under YAYI will prioritise infrastructural growth, industrial expansion, youth empowerment and rural development, thereby positioning Ogun State as a leading economic hub in Nigeria and West Africa sub-region,” Adeniji noted.
