The newly-elected Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Olalekan Glory, has described the party as a closely-knit family committed to its growth and development in the state.

He said the level of unity within the party was evident in the peaceful and orderly conduct of the state congress, and he commended members for their cooperation throughout the exercise.

Glory emerged as the party’s youth leader following the congress held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium.

Speaking after the exercise, he praised party leaders and delegates for adhering to the agreed guidelines, noting that the smooth conduct of the congress reflected the party’s unity in the state.

According to the new youth leader, the exercise followed consultations with stakeholders, who had earlier reached consensus on a zoning arrangement to ensure the equitable distribution of positions across the State Executive Committee.

The congress also produced former Deputy Governor Alake Adeyemo as the new Oyo APC chairman.

Also elected were Remi Adepoju as organising secretary, Olawale Sadare as publicity secretary, and Felicia Opatunde as women’s leader.

Additional members were announced to fill various positions within the state executive committee as the party concluded the congress.
