The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the existing zoning arrangement of the positions of the party’s highest in administrative organ of the party ahead of the forthcoming national convention
This move, the party's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka said is to prevent internal friction ahead of its elective convention and to the status quo of the party's high command aimed at ensuring geographic balance and party stability.
In the statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the APC confirmed that the power-sharing formula used to distribute offices across the six geo-political zones remains "valid and applicable" for the upcoming gathering.
The statement reads: "As contained in the published All Progressives Congress (APC) 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention, and Related Activities, the existing zoning arrangement for National working Committee positions across states within the geo-political zones remains valid and applicable to the upcoming for National Convention
"Aspirants purchasing and submitting Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for national offices ahead of the National Convention are advised to be STRICTLY GUIDED by the existing zoning arrangement."

Under the present zoning arrangement, the office of the National Chairman is zoned to the North Central region and micro-zoned to Plateau State. The office of the Deputy National Chairman (North) is alloted to North East with Borno State as the benefiting state whole that of tbe Deputy National Chairman (South) is micro-zoned to Enugu State.
South West housed the office of the National Secretary and is currently being held by Osun State, while the Assustant National Scectary is alloted to North Central with Nassarawa state as occupant. The office of the National Treasurer is micro-zoned to Ebonyi State, while the National Organizing Secretary is produced by Kebbi State, and Anambra State has the slot of the Deputy National Organizing Secretary.
For the office of the National Women Leader, Edo State occupies the position, the National Youth Leader is alloted to Lagos State while Ogun State has thr office of National Leader of Peoples With Disabilities (PWDs).
