A leading aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo, has sought the blessing and support of traditional rulers in Akure North Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general election.
Hon. Fadairo, during a meeting with royal fathers from Akure North LGA on Friday, said it was imperative to pay homage to the monarchs, describing traditional institutions as critical stakeholders in community development and political stability.
The former Director of Administration to the Senate and immediate past Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement (Central) said his aspiration was driven by a desire to attract development and improve the welfare of constituents through effective representation.

"Our esteemed royal fathers, I have come to solicit your support as leaders and custodians of our communities. I am your son, and I seek to represent Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
"I am a son of the soil who has contributed to the growth of our communities. I am a pan-Akure man. I am offering myself for service and humbly request your prayers, wisdom and blessings as I continue consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
The APC apirant also pledged to run an inclusive campaign focused on youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and improved access to basic services if elected.
"Our Kabiyesi, I am ready to prioritise solutions to the challenges facing our constituency, including infrastructure deficits, youth unemployment, women empowerment, inadequate healthcare, poor road networks, and limited access to quality education. I will fast-track Federal jobs and opportunities for our people. I will not disappoint you," Fadairo said.
He added that Ondo state, under the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been making notable progress and required continuity that aligns with the philosophy of the current leadership.

Remarking on behalf of the traditional rulers, Olumafon of Imafo, Oba Samuel Adegbehingbe, commended Fadairo for observing tradition and urged him to conduct his political activities peacefully and in line with due process.
Adegbehingbe, who declared the support of the traditional rulers in Akure North for the aspirant, advised Fadairo to remain accessible to community leaders and be receptive to guidance, stressing the need for him to justify the confidence reposed in him if elected.
"We all know your history. You have never disappointed even when you held former offices, you make huge contributions that we can point to here in Akure but do not forget your source when you get to the National Assembly," he said.
Also speaking, the Ojogbariaaka of Ilado, HRM Oba Johnson Kayode Ajomole, emphasised unity in Akure, stressing that the monarchs would support any son of the soil with genuine intentions.
"Akure is one. If we see our son who is willing to serve well, we will support him. Your achievements are commendable, but ensure you touch all segments of the constituency if elected.
"We want you to help address insecurity in Akure land. Return to the grassroots, educate the people, and run an issue-based campaign,” he said.
Other monarchs present at the meeting included the Asakin of Aboasakin, Oba Sunday Adebayo; the Obalogun of Igoba, Oba John Adilewa; the Ori-Ade of Alayere, Oba Alatoyinbo Adeniran; and the Iresi of Osi, Oba David Olajide Okunato, among others.
