The Seriki Adini of Akewu-Kawe of Iwo Land, Chief Oladosu Adebayo, has formally declared his intention to contest the Osun West Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adebayo made the declaration during an event held in front of the Oluwo’s Palace in Iwo, Osun State, where he outlined his ambition to provide purposeful representation, attract grassroots development, and strengthen the district’s voice at the National Assembly.

He said his decision was informed by concerns over infrastructural deficits, youth unemployment, and the need for more inclusive governance across the Osun West Senatorial District.

According to him, he is prepared to offer quality representation anchored on dedication, sincerity, and service to the people.

“I have a massive support base at home and across the entire district. People have been encouraging me to come out, and I am ready to serve my people with integrity,” he said.

Adebayo noted that his long-standing involvement in community development has given him a deeper understanding of the challenges facing residents, adding that it has also earned him several traditional and community titles across different areas.

He highlighted persistent issues such as poor road infrastructure, unstable electricity supply, and other developmental gaps, pledging to prioritise empowerment, education, rural electrification, and road construction if elected.

“These are the things we must address to reduce poverty in our communities,” he added.

He also called on residents of the district to support the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), as well as the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his remarks, APC leader in Iwo Federal Constituency, Ambassador Abdulyekin Abilagbo, commended Adebayo’s contributions to youth empowerment and community development, expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver meaningful representation if elected.
