Kwara State Government has given industrial cassava flour (garri) processing machines to the people of Owode Oja in Asa Local Government to boost their businesses, create jobs, improve livelihoods and encourage sustainable development.

The machines included dewatered cassava mash fryer, cassava mash sifter and cassava grater with 1.5tons capacity on a daily basis.

Presenting the items to the community on behalf of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, said the state chief executive is a lover of the masses, and an advocate of self-reliance and economic prosperity.

“We are here to fulfil a promise Governor AbdulRazaq made on August 5 last year in this community while inspecting road projects in this area. He asked the residents the other things they needed and they said they wanted him to empower them with machines. This is why His Excellency has sent us here today to deliver four industrial machines, which were purchased from the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM),” Ajakaye told reporters.

Baale Owode Oja, Mallam Yakub, Secretary of the Youth Wing of the community, Mustapha Olaitan and Fauzat Abdulganiy thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise.
