Agege Stadium, Agege, Lagos, Monday February 23rd (2026), came alive in bright colours and a beehive of activities, as pupils of Kristbethel Schools, Ipaja, comprising its Nursery/Primary and Secondary schools lit up the tartan tracks to mark its biannual inter-house sports.

Tagged: ‘Schools’ Unified Inter-house Sports Competition’, the highly competitive event was chaired by Architect Yusuf Kolawole, while HRM Adedayo Ramson Oki, the traditional ruler of Oki Kingdom in Alimosho Local Government and Mr. Emmanuel Ojo, MD/CEO of Redtech Limited were special guests of honour.

Notably, the school’s Executive Director, Mrs Olusoji Cline was on ground to play host, alongside the College Principal, Dr. Timothy Oyetade, and the Head Teacher (Nursery/Primary) Mrs. L.O. Babatunde.

Femi Amusan of the African Independent television was Master of ceremony.

Events contested include Volleyball, Basketball and Table Tennis (in the Heats); and track races of 25 metres, 50metres, 100metres, 200metres, 400metres, 4x100 Invitation Relay, 4x100metres Junior and Senior, amongst others.

At the end of all hostilities, Red House emerged champions in the College category with 18 medals: 7 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze; Yellow House came second with 13 medals: 3 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze, while Blue House came third with 13 medals: 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze. Green House was 4th with 9 medals: 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze.

In the Primary category, Blue House emerged champions with 12 medals: 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 2 Bronze; Yellow House came second with 12 medals: 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze; Green House came third with 17 medals: 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 10 Bronze; and Wine House came fourth with 7 medals: 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze.

Speaking with The Nation, Kristbethel School’s Executive Director, Mrs. Olusoji Cline, expressed her delight at the success of the day’s event: “I think it was a good event. In spite of being on a Monday, parents turned out. I’m just happy. I’m also amazed at the fact that the performances weren’t affected by Ramadan and lent fasting. I look forward to a bigger and more fun-filled event in two years’ time.”

College Principal, Dr. Timothy Oyetade said: “It’s a success story. The students prepared assiduously for two months; there were a number of technical hitches, but we were able to overcome them.

On the performances, Oyetade said: “There were some students that we felt were not likely to perform, but it was those same students who showed up for their different houses.”

He said he wasn’t surprised Red House emerged tops in the college category, having led right from the heat and showed potential of champions.
