The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Ibrahim Johnson Akinpelu, has budgeted N8.81 billion for this year expenditure.
The Appropriation Bill, tagged “Budget of Restoration and Renewed Progress,” is aimed at ensuring effective governance and service delivery.
Akinpelu said the 2026 fiscal plan would focus on road and drainage construction, support for the aged, widows and vulnerable persons, staff welfare, and the provision of logistical support for elected and appointed officials, career civil servants, and traditional rulers.

He also listed market development and other community-based interventions as key priorities.

The chairman used the occasion to highlight achievements recorded since assuming office, including the construction of Bamgbola and Benstar streets, erection of a Community Development Committee (CDC) building, reconstruction of a mosque and chapel, installation of speed breakers along Shasha Road, construction of a Customary Court, and the establishment of an Advocacy Centre for residents. Other interventions, he said, include the construction of public toilets, distribution of 600 free GCE forms, the introduction of a monthly 50 per cent subsidised food sales programme, “Ounje Alimosho,” improved staff welfare, and the ongoing reconstruction of Old Ipaja Road, construction of Sekoni street, Alaguntan, Iyana-Ipaja, ongoing construction of Kasali Alyson street, Orisunmibare, N100,000 cash empowerment to 500 residents of Alimosho LGA and others.
Leader of the Legislative Arm, Semiu Rasheed Olamilekan, commended the chairman for what he described as his commitment to development and good governance.
“Your passion for service, vision, hard work and integrity have shown that significant progress can be achieved within a short period,” he said.
