The Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren (RIKAY), has unveiled Supervisors and Special Advisers with designated portfolios as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across the council.

Yemaren announced their portfolios during the presentation of official vehicles to political office holders and top management staff at the Council Secretariat.

He described the appointments as strategic, noting that they are aimed at accelerating grassroots development, improving administrative efficiency, and ensuring effective service delivery in Badagry West LCDA.

He stated that the selection process was guided by competence, loyalty, and a demonstrated commitment to public service.

According to the list, Vice Chairman, Ogungbe Sesi Yusuf, will oversee Works, Housing and Infrastructure department, while Nathaniel Johnson Henwa was appointed Secretary to the Local Government (SLG).

The Supervisors include Metose Dansuki (Budget and Planning); Pastor Boyon Samuel (Religious Matters); Mrs. Sera Hunsa (Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation); Moses Kuwede (Environmental Services); Bankole Emmanuel (Legislative Matters); Richard Ajaneson (Health Services), and Sunday Oke (Market and Park Matters).

Also are Alli Kareem (Agriculture, Youth and Social Services);  Zinsu Emmanuel (ICT); Olatunde Kudus (Education and Library Services); Mrs. Sesi Hannah Denagan (Tourism, Art and Culture); Sotin Daniel Sejoro (Chieftaincy and Boundary); Esther Ajose (Revenue Matters and Enforcement); Kuton Mathias (Political Matters), and Ogungbe Lanre Kingsley (Youth and Civic Engagement).

The Special Advisers include Adande Mauyon (Intergovernmental Relations) and Mrs. Bashiru Balikis (Social Services and Welfare).

The Chairman clarified that while the majority of the supervisors had earlier been duly sworn in, three additional nominees whose names were initially omitted and, in some instances, substituted have now successfully completed all statutory and legislative requirements.

Yemaren emphasised that their appointments strictly followed established procedures guiding local government administration, affirming that they are now bona fide members of the executive cabinet.

He noted that the clarification became necessary in light of public concerns and misconceptions arising from the increase in the number of appointees, stressing that the publication in national dailies is intended to reinforce transparency, uphold institutional credibility, and assure stakeholders of the administration’s unwavering commitment to due process and good governance.

He approved an upgrade of portfolio with expanded responsibilities for the Office of the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Solomon ZOSU, now designated as Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Tourism, Art and Culture.

This strategic move is aimed at harnessing experience, creativity, and effective communication to further drive the council’s tourism agenda, in collaboration with the Supervisor for Tourism, Art and Culture.

This development is particularly significant given Badagry’s unique status as a prominent tourism hub, rich in cultural heritage and vast potential that requires deliberate promotion and global visibility.

The Chairman expressed confidence that the appointees would bring their wealth of experience and dedication to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities, in line with his administration’s vision for a more progressive and people-oriented Badagry West LCDA.

He charged them to uphold the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and service, while aligning with the developmental agenda of Lagos State.
