The Benue State Government has announced the death of the Head of Service, Dr. Agbogbo Ode.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Kula Tersoo, quoted the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Serumun, as confirming that the senior public servant died on May 2, 2026, after a brief illness.

“It is with deep sadness that the Benue State Government announces the death of Dr. Agbogbo Ode, the Head of Service of Benue State. His sudden demise occurred on Saturday, May 2, 2026, after a brief illness,” the statement said.

The government described the late Ode as an accomplished technocrat and a respected figure in the public service, noting that his death represents a significant loss to the state.

It added that his dedication, professionalism and contributions to the development of the state civil service would be remembered.

The government extended condolences to his family, associates and the entire civil service, while praying for the repose of his soul.
