Iwo-Born Development Expert, Quadri Giwa, has declared his intention to contest for Osun West senatorial seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress in 2027 general election.

He said his decision followed consultations with constituents, political allies, family, and friends in the senatorial district.

Meeting supporters and associates at his home in Iwo, Giwa said his ambition was driven by the desire to provide purposeful leadership and address gaps in representation in Osun West.

He said his priorities included raising the standard of representation, creating sustainable opportunities for youths and attracting infrastructure to the district.

The aspirant pledged to embark on consultations with party leaders, youths, women groups and other stakeholders to strengthen unity in the party ahead of future elections.

He said: “Many people have been asking if I will run for the Senate, but I urged them to wait until after our party’s national convention, when I would have made up my mind. Now that the APC convention is over and a new National Working Committee has been constituted, I have decided to contest for Senate in 2027.

“My intention is to ensure the voice of our people in Osun West is heard. My concept of empowerment goes beyond distributing tricycles, freezers, generators, or motorcycles. We must focus on sustainable infrastructure development that will have long-term benefits for our people.

“I will be meeting with party leaders and critical stakeholders because unity is essential, especially as we approach Osun State 2026 governorship election.”
