He added that infrastructural revolution was part of his campaign promises, assuring of his commitment to fulfilling them.

He urged residents to support his administration, pay their rates and cooperate with the contractors.

According to him, without their rates, there is nothing we can do.

However, residents lamented that the slow  pace of work at Akesan Street made it dificult for them to access their homes.

They appealed to the chairman to prevail on the contractor handling the project to fast-track it.

The council boss also had a stopover at Oki Primary Health Centre to assess the condition of the centre.

Leader of the Legislative Arm, Giwa Wasiu, while commending the council boss for fulfilling his campaign promises, assured residents of more infrastructures in the council.

“He made a promise and we thank God that he is coming up with his promise, which everybody can testify to. So, we thank him and we thank Almighty Allah for that. But there are more to come.

We’re just new to this government, not up to six months, if I’m not mistaken. So, more are still coming,” he said.

Deputy Majority leader, Kayode Obaleye, lauded the chairman for delivering a “befitting road in the area.”

Council Manager, Gbemisola Fregene, said that regular monitoring and inspection are crucial to ensure that contractors are meeting the expectations set by the council and the residents and also serves as checks and balances.
