The immediate past Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Dr. Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has held a special prayer session in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 74th birthday.

Speaking at the gathering, Apatira described the President as a “visionary leader” whose life has been defined by resilience, foresight and commitment to national service.

He said: “Today, we gather with deep pride, gratitude and admiration to celebrate a figure in the nation’s history. President Tinubu is a man whose name resonates with strength and leadership.”

Apatira, who addressed party executives and stakeholders present, lauded Tinubu’s political journey, noting that his contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development remain significant.

According to him, the President has evolved from a pro-democracy activist to a transformative governor of Lagos State and now the leader of the nation.

“Asiwaju is not just a leader, he is an institution, a political architect and a master strategist who has shaped generations of politicians,” he said.

Apatira, who announced his plans to contest for the House of Assembly in Surulere Constituency 2, added that Tinubu’s leadership style has been marked by bold decisions and a consistent pursuit of progress, even in challenging times.

“You have stood on the side of justice, equity and national development. You built structures where there were none and nurtured leaders who today contribute meaningfully to governance,” Apatira stated.

Describing the President as a “father figure” to many in the political space, he noted that Tinubu’s influence cuts across regions, religions and generations.

Apatira noted that the President’s vision for a united and economically viable Nigeria, is driven by sustainable development and inclusive growth.

“At a time when leadership demands courage, you have stepped forward with reform and policies aimed at repositioning our country for greatness. History will remember you as a leader who dares to act. Mr. President, your strength, wisdom and political destiny continue to inspire millions.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Alhaja Iyabosola Eletu, prayed for the President’s success and urged party members to remain committed.

“By the grace of God, God will uplift the President and grant him victory in this election. God will also grant victory to Ahmed Apatira as representative of Surulere Constituency in the House of Assembly,” she said.

Eletu called on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the forthcoming electoral process.

“I want to implore all of us to get our voter’s cards. We will soon start the revalidation of voter registration. Without that, you cannot vote. It is important,” she added.

She stressed the need for consistency among party faithful, expressing confidence that their prayers would be answered.
