The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration and Surbaban Broadband has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to redevelop Jabi Lake Waterfront into an international mixed-use luxury destination.
FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said during the signing in Abuja, that the development would position Abuja as a premier global destination akin to Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah.
Wike urged the Surbaban Broadband team to adhere to the terms of the deal, ensuring transparency, sustainability, and excellence in execution.

The initiative is projected to generate thousands of jobs, stimulate growth, and raise Abuja’s waterfront to world-class standards with luxury residential, commercial, hospitality, and recreational facilities.
The FCT Administration reaffirmed its commitment to fostering public-private partnerships that drive sustainable development and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

Ahmed Nasser, who led the Surbaban Broadband delegation, said the partnership marked a pivotal step in redefining Abuja’s skyline and global reputation.
“Jabi Lake Waterfront will not only boost local employment and investment but also attract international tourism and business, cementing the FCT’s status as Africa’s leading capital city,” Nasser said.
Other members of the team were Mrs Olufunmilayo Hannah Aigbomiam, Mr Idris Usman of First Trust Mortgage Providers and a foreign partner, Mr. Pankaj Khandelwal.
Khandelwal affirmed the company’s resolve to deploy cutting-edge international expertise, innovative design, and best-in-class construction practices to realise this vision.
