She noted that the Committee has been mandated to develop a comprehensive implementation framework covering curriculum design, training standards, certification pathways, and strategic partnerships with relevant industry players.
In her remarks, the Secretary of the Committee, Mrs. Joke Onireti, noted that the integration of CNG skills into the NYSC SAED platform would expand access to practical training for young people across the federation.
According to her, “The NYSC structure provides a unique nationwide platform to reach thousands of graduates annually. By integrating CNG retrofitting skills into the SAED programme, we are creating pathways for self-reliance, employability, and enterprise development for Nigerian youth.”
The integration is expected to catalyze job creation across the automotive and energy value chains, reduce youth unemployment, and enhance local capacity for clean energy adoption.
It also strengthens the NYSC SAED programme as a vehicle for delivering scalable, industry-aligned vocational training that responds directly to national priorities.
The Technical Committee will commence work immediately, with timelines to be communicated for pilot implementation and national rollout.
