Afrobeats singer Omah Lay has opened up about a recent heartbreak, stating that a two-month relationship ended suddenly while he was attending the 2025 Grammys in early February.

Speaking at the listening party for his forthcoming album, 'Clarity Of Mind,' Omah Lay revealed that he thought the relationship had potential and even considered having a baby with the woman.

“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. While I was at the Grammy and Justin Bieber was performing, I was having a breakup and an embarrassing moment.

“While I was at the Grammys, I was not present because even before the show I had already started having issues in my relationship. And this was only a two month old relationship. But I thought it was the right relationship and I was going to have a baby,” he said.

The singer admitted that the breakup distracted him during the event, preventing him from enjoying the experience.

Omah Lay attributed his struggles with balancing romance and music to his tendency to focus intensely on one thing at a time, citing this as inspiration for his song 'Don’t Love Me'.

“I don’t know how to do two things at time. When I am into one thing, all of me is into that. So, I wasn’t even present at the Grammys. I didn’t even enjoy anything.

“So my song ‘Don’t Love Me’ is me saying girl, let’s enjoy this moment but as soon as I find another thing that gives me pleasure, I’m going to leave,” Omah Lay explained.
