Popular content creator and philanthropist King Mitchy has come under sustained online criticism following her recent charitable intervention, including the renovation of a school within six days.

The social media personality has faced accusations questioning her motives, with critics attempting to downplay the impact of the project.

In a post on Instagram, Mitchy opened up about the emotional toll of the backlash, recounting her difficult childhood and explaining that her experiences shaped her commitment to philanthropy.

“A lot of people have a lot to say about me lately… questioning my intentions, dragging my name, and trying to discredit something I did from my heart,” she wrote.

"Yes, I renovated that school. I didn’t do it for validation. I did it because I understand what it means to grow up without certain privileges.

"But what hurts me the most is how quick people are to judge when they don’t know anything about my life. You don’t know where I’m coming from.

"I grew up without a father. If I see my father today, I wouldn’t even recognize him. The only time I ever saw him was when I was about 8 years old, and my mother took me to the prison to see him. That was it.

"You don’t know what it feels like to grow up like that. You don’t know the strength it takes to keep going, to build yourself, to stand on your own Yet, every day, people sit behind their phones and try to tear me down, insult me, bully me, and make me feel like I’m nothing.

"But let me say this clearly your words do not define me. My story did not break me, it built me. And everything I do, I do it with a genuine heart. If you choose to hate me, that’s your decision. But don’t try to rewrite my truth.

"I will keep growing. I will keep doing good. And I will not let anyone silence me".

Tragically, King Mitchy attempted to take her own life by drinking hypo, a household cleaning agent, and later took sniper, an insecticide, during a Saturday livestream on TikTok.

Her management team initially announced her passing, but later retracted the statement, confirming she was alive.
