Female employees of Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL) known as the IDL Amazons, celebrated this year's International Women's Day (IWD) with students of Iganmode Grammar School, Ota, Ogun State, as part of efforts to inspire young people to prioritise education, personal development, and responsible decision-making.
The outreach programme, tagged 'Focus Is the Flex,' was organised to encourage students to remain focused on their academic goals and resist negative influences that could derail their future aspirations.

Speaking during the event, Human Resources Manager, Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL) and Team Lead, IDL Amazons, Mrs Bertina Bamgbose, said the initiative aligns with the spirit of International Women's Day by supporting and empowering young people in the communities where the company operates. According to her, the programme was designed to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and resilience needed to navigate social pressures while staying committed to their ambitions. She noted that the company considers students within its host communities as important stakeholders whose development and well-being are vital to society's future.

The session also featured an interactive talk by psychiatrist Dr. Victoria Elegbede, who educated the students on the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles and making responsible choices that support their long-term goals.
Students who participated in the programme described the initiative as inspiring and impactful. One of the students, Praise Oluwadamilola, an SS3 science student, said the session motivated participants to remain focused on their studies and make decisions that will positively shape their future. Similarly, Alaka Boluwatife said the programme helped students understand that they can enjoy life while still remaining committed to their personal and academic aspirations.
