LAHA 2027: "I'm confident because I have served APC," Remi Bello declares ambition
Residents of Agege gathered in high spirits recently as Hon. Remi Bello officially declared his intention to contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat representing Agege Constituency 01

Residents of Agege gathered in high spirits recently as Hon. Remi Bello officially declared his intention to contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat representing Agege Constituency 01 in the 2027 elections.
The declaration event, held on Shitta Street within the constituency, drew a large crowd of political allies, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), friends, associates, and enthusiastic residents who believe in Bello’s vision for representation.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Bello stated, “Today, I have brought my people together to formally inform them of my intention to represent the Agege Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly."”
He explained that beyond consultations with key stakeholders in politics, the party, and the community, it was important to publicly declare his ambition to the people he seeks to serve.

Bello acknowledged the legacy of the current Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, noting that he has “left big shoes to fill, but also a clear roadmap.” He pledged to sustain and build upon the Speaker’s achievements.
“I am often referred to as ‘Aremo Obasa,’ which reflects the close relationship I share with him. It is every parent’s prayer that their child surpasses them, and I am committed to doing even more for our people,” Bello said.
He emphasized his commitment to grassroots engagement, promising to maintain regular constituency meetings to stay connected with residents and address their needs effectively.
Highlighting his experience, Bello pointed to his role in the Lagos State Youth Parliament, where he served as Speaker of the Second Parliament. According to him, this experience has prepared him to represent the people effectively at a higher level.
“I have always been a voice for the people. My track record in the Youth Parliament shows that I can deliver when given greater responsibility,” he added.

On the issue of empowerment programs, Bello assured residents that he would not only sustain existing initiatives but also improve them.
“I will continue the good legacy laid down by the Speaker and build on it. No one is perfect, and there is always room for improvement,” he said.
He noted that empowerment efforts in Agege are already ongoing, citing initiatives such as subsidized food items and free gas cylinder refills facilitated by the local government leadership.
Expressing confidence in securing the APC ticket, Bello said his long-standing service to the party and close relationship with the people give him an edge.
“We are confident because we have served the party and stood with the people. The massive turnout today, despite residents’ earlier engagement at the presidential event for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, shows the level of support we enjoy,” he said.
Bello further stressed that democracy is about the will of the people, urging party leaders to heed the voices of constituents, whether through consensus or direct primaries.
“We have been active at every level, ward, zone, and local government, working closely with the people. Even without holding office, we have been empowering communities through initiatives like ‘My Community, My Commitment,’ which benefits both politicians and non-politicians alike,” he explained.
Concluding his address, Bello urged residents to support his candidacy, “If the people desire quality representation and continuity of good governance, then Remi Bello is the choice. I have heard their call and answered it. Now, I urge them to come out en masse and vote for me.”
