The outgoing Minister of Power and a leading gubernatorial aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 governorship election in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has promised not to disappointed people in the state if he become the governor of the state in 2027.

He said his ambition to be the governor of the state in 2027 is not to enriched himself but to serve people of the state, urging indegiens and residents of the state to give him opportunity to serve them as their governor in 2027.

He stated that his administration will be the best as governor to serve the people, if giving grace and opportunity to become governor of the state in 2027.

Speaking in Ibadan while addressing supporters and party faithful after his arrival from Abuja, Adelabu promised not to let the people down, nor disappoint them, adding that service to people of the state will always be his top priority.

According to him, his ambition to become governor of the state in 2027 is not to enrich himself, favour or benefit members APC members alone, but the generality of the populace, adding that his administration will be for the mases including the poor, less privileges, women, youths, indegiens and residents of the state.

He said, "I want our people to give me the opportunity and grace to serve them, people in the state should give me opportunity they gave to others who habe served them, and i will give them the best and positively, Oyo state will never remain again.

"Im believing in the entire people of Oyo state that im going to secure the ticket to represent our party as the gubernatorial candidate and proceed to win as governor of the state in 2027 by Gods grace because God sees my heart, my plan and my resolve to serve humanity and the people of Oyo state and to give my best in ensuring that Oyo state regain its status as a pacesetter state.

"I will ensure that infrastructure development in the state is giving top priority, i will ensure prosperity of people in the state during my reign as governor and ensure that security, physical and social infrastructure in the state will attain its optimal status. These are what I've prepared for in the last 12 years.

"I will hit the ground running once i become the governor of the state, we have Oyo state knowledge in our palm and we have our strategy and manifesto. I have seeing and i have conquered and i believe I've done my best for the national development, i have oversee one of the key sector in Nigeria."

He exonerated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja from rumors making around that the duo has a prefered governorship aspirant, and endorsed him for the 2027 governorship election in the state.

He described report of the endorsement as a mere rumors, urging residents and indegiens of the state to disregard such and not give credence or legitimacy to it.

He stated that President Tinubu will not endorse or have special interest in any aspirant, adding that the President is a true democrat, who will never impose anyone.

According to him, President Tinubu has not endorsed any consensus candidate, and the gubernatorial contest is open to whoever that is interested.

He said, "Asiwaju is the President of Nigeria overseeing 36 state and FCT, he is the President over 774 local government, he is the President over almost 3,000 wards, so, he will not endorse or have special interest in any one.

"President Tinubu said we should all go and meet as a party, reach consensus among ourselves as a party with critical stakeholders on ground, and if its not possible for us to reach consensus, then we go for direct primary."

On Olubadan endorsing an aspirant, Adelabu said he take the report as rumor and don't believe in it, describing Olubadan as the father of all, irrespective of status or political affiliations.
