Senator representing Plateau Central, Diket Plang, has declared his bid for a second term, presenting his nomination forms to constituents and stakeholders in Pankshin ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator representing Plateau Central, Diket Plang, has declared his bid for a second term, presenting his nomination forms to constituents and stakeholders in Pankshin ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Plang said he chose to inform his people first out of respect for the mandate they gave him, and to seek their prayers, support, and blessings.
“My people deserve to know every step I take politically because they gave me this opportunity,” he said. “I am here to tell them why I want to return and to ask for their continued support.”
As part of his visit, the senator met with key stakeholders, including the Ngolong Ngas, the Pankshin Local Government chairman, and party leaders at the APC zonal headquarters.

He noted that a second term would enable him to consolidate on his legislative efforts and provide more effective representation, leveraging the experience he has gained in the Senate.
“With the experience I now have, I will be more effective and productive for my constituency,” he said.
Plang highlighted several legislative initiatives, including a bill to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Kanke, which has passed third reading, and a proposed National Eye Centre in Pushit, Mangu, aimed at improving access to specialised healthcare.
