By Augustine Okezie, Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has reaffirmed his strong relationship with President Bola Tinubu, describing their bond as “impregnable” and dismissing reports suggesting otherwise as misleading.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Katsina and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohamed Kaula, the governor rejected what he termed “misrepresentations” by some media outlets, particularly from the southern part of the country, which he said distorted his comments on leadership accountability to imply criticism of the President.

“This is patently false and deliberate mischief,” the statement read.

According to the clarification, Radda’s remarks were directed at state and local government officials, urging citizens to hold their leaders accountable through the ballot, and not aimed at the President.

“Politics is an open game, not done in secrecy. Anyone who leads the people well should be re-elected, while those who do not should be voted out,” the governor stated, describing the position as a fundamental democratic principle rather than a critique of the President.

The statement further stressed that Radda remains a steadfast supporter of Tinubu, noting that his loyalty is longstanding and well established.

It recalled that on February 2, 2026, the governor convened a major political gathering in Katsina, bringing together key political figures to endorse Tinubu’s re-election bid.

As Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, Radda was also credited with fostering consensus among the seven governors in the region in support of the President’s policies, positioning the Northwest as a strong base for Tinubu’s agenda.
