The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo State Chapter, has announced a special workshop for its members, scheduled to hold alongside its general congress on Tuesday, 14 April.

In a press statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka, and Secretary, Tunde Liadi, the workshop, themed "Balancing Truth and Loyalty: Ethical Responsibilities in Sports Reporting," will be delivered by High Chief Fan Ndubuoke (Ezinwa Mbaise), a former President of SWAN, ex-Chairman of the Imo State Sports Commission, and former Chairman of the Imo State Football Association.

This session will provide valuable insights into the ethical demands of sports journalism, especially the need for journalists to remain objective while maintaining professional relationships within the industry.

With extensive experience across sports administration and journalism, Ndubuoke is expected to guide members on maintaining credibility, integrity, and balance in their reporting.

The SWAN Imo leadership emphasises that the workshop is vital for enhancing professional standards and reinforcing ethical conduct among members.

Members are strongly encouraged to attend both the general congress, which precedes the workshop, and the session itself.

All activities will take place at No. 26 School Road, Owerri.
