Veteran media personality Krystn Enem has revealed that professional burnout prompted her decision to step away from the entertainment industry at the height of her television career.

Enem ended years of speculation surrounding her absence from the spotlight, explaining that exhaustion forced her to pause after nearly a decade of sustained production and on-air demands. Her withdrawal followed the closure of her long-running programme, The Krystn Enem Show, marking the beginning of an eight-year hiatus.

The show, which aired on PRTV before expanding to Africa Magic Urban, was a fixture in early 2000s pop-culture programming. Its sudden end surprised viewers, particularly as her departure was not linked to controversy.

During its run, Enem hosted and interviewed leading figures in the music industry, including Olamide, Falz, Yemi Alade, and Simi.

Reflecting on her decision, she said the break became necessary after years of relentless work, adding that stepping back allowed her to recalibrate beyond the demands of show business.

“I took a break because I was tired, mentally, emotionally, physically, and psychologically. I had been working non-stop for almost 10 years, and my body just shut down,” she said, explaining that what was meant to be a six-month rest stretched into eight years as life events unfolded.

During the period, Enem went through major personal transitions, including motherhood, which she described as one of the most defining phases of her life.

Now, she says she is returning with renewed clarity and purpose through her new project, Conversations with Krystn Enem, a podcast positioned as a rebirth of her former television brand but tailored for deeper and more reflective engagement.

The programme focuses on healing, identity, relationships, emotional well-being, and life transitions.

Before relocating to the United States nearly a decade ago, Enem built her media career under her company, Glaim Concepts, producing and hosting her flagship show.

Abroad, she transitioned into corporate America, gaining experience in organisational leadership while quietly preparing for a creative comeback.

Following what she described as a “major personal shift” in mid-2025, Enem said she is now prioritising clarity, wellness, and purpose over constant hustle, and is open to corporate leadership roles, media collaborations, and storytelling projects.

Blending corporate insight with her media roots, she described the new podcast as both an evolution and a homecoming, promising honest conversations and thoughtful guests. The show currently airs on digital, including YouTube.
